Sydney is one of the most visited destinations in the world, taking in nearly 5 million foreign visitors each year and about 12 million domestic tourists. Of course, it has one of the modern architectural marvels in the Sydney Opera House, and there are other attractions, as well, such as the Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, and the Royal Botanical Gardens, among others. Those who travelled to Sydney, however, will swear by how friendly its people are. But a major indication of the perception of friendliness is the smile.

Sydneysiders are ready to give you a warm smile because they generally have a good set of teeth. But that’s only on the surface. Over the years, however, oral hygiene for Australia left much to be desired. As you know, bad teeth can lead to a host of other issues, such as the loss of confidence, eating disorders, oral diseases, bad breath, and anxiety. The good news is that you can still correct your chompers through cosmetic dentistry sydney.

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, the oral health of Sydney residents, and Australia in general, deteriorates as they grow older. For instance, those belonging in the 6-14-year-old bracket have an average of 0.5 missing or decayed teeth. However, the 15-34 age group has an average of 4.5 missing or decayed teeth. By the time they reach 35-54 years old, the number of missing or decayed teeth rises to an average of 14.4.

These are the five types of treatments of cosmetic dentistry in Sydney and their corresponding estimated costs:

  1. Cosmetic veneers — They are perfect if you have some imperfections in your teeth that are causing you some insecurities. The cosmetic veneers will mask the chips, gaps, discolouration, cracks, and some minor misalignment. Each porcelain veneer will cost you from $1,500 to $2,000. The composite resin veneer, meanwhile, will range from $350 to $700 per tooth.
  1. Teeth whitening — Much like as it sounds, the procedure will address discolourations and stains. While DIY videos will recommend using baking soda to whiten the teeth, it does not work, especially if the stain is intrinsic. It means the contamination already spread to the enamel and dentin. They can only be corrected using professional teeth whitening services. The procedure will cost you from $350 to $400, but the benefit of a beautiful smile is priceless.
  1. Invisible braces — As opposed to fixed braces, you would not see any wires and metal brackets with this corrective tool. They are also removable when you need to eat or sleep. The cost of putting Invisalign or ClearCorrect will range from $4,000 to $9,000, depending on the state of your teeth and the treatment procedure.
  1. Implants — The dental implants is a semi-permanent procedure that will replace a gap in your teeth. The screw will be implanted on your gums until the bone fuses with the material, which can be aluminium, stainless steel, or cobalt-chrome alloy. Expect to spend between $1,500 to $3,000 per tooth.

According to data, the average Australian spends $165.83 for each dental visit. Of course, the fee balloons if you have some issues with your teeth. The only way to cut costs is to make it a habit to visit your dentist every six months for maintenance and cleaning.
