It was DC’s fight up until the 3rd round where he absorbed a massive head kick. It was very evident after the fight was not going to last much longer.
This has been a down year for the UFC. The cards have been hit and miss and most of them have lacked the star power and compelling fights necessary to stimulate fans beyond the hardcore audience. That will change on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
At UFC 214, the promotion is offering the biggest main card of the year topped off with the most intriguing and important main event of 2017. Daniel Cormier will defend his UFC light heavyweight title against bitter rival Jon Jones in a rematch.
Jones is the former champ. He handed Cormier his only loss in their first fight, but personal and legal issues caused him to be stripped of the title. Cormier won it in Jones’ absence, but he’s still never proven himself to be better than Jones in the Octagon. To say these two dislike each other is an understatement.
UFC 214 will also feature a battle for the UFC women’s featherweight title between Cris Cyborg and Tonya Evinger as well as a UFC welterweight title defense from champ Tyron Woodley against Demian Maia. Here’s a look at the card info and nine other things you should know about Saturday’s event.
