Internet Reacts Harshly After Ted Cruz’s Official Twitter Account “Accidentally” Likes NSFW Video

When in doubt… Throw out the word accidentally! When that doesn’t work, throw in something about you not running your actual account! Also, make sure you don’t make the statements yourself, have someone on your team do it. PR 101!

Last night Ted Cruz was trending worldwide. This time it wasn’t because people thought he was the Zodiac killer or making fun of him for looking like Kevin Malone from the office.

This time it was about his politics! Scratch that, nobody cares about that. This is way bigger! Ted liked some NSFW tweets!

According to Distractify: Ted Cruz’s official Twitter account “liked” something pretty surprising, and it’s caused a huge reaction on social media. While it’s unclear who exactly “liked” the post, whoever it was “liked” something they probably shouldn’t have. Specifically a porn clip from the Twitter account “@SexuallPosts.”

Here is the tweet from Ted:

The tweet was liked by Cruz’s official Twitter account for nearly an hour before being deleted at around 1:20 a.m on Tuesday. The senator’s communications director Catherine Frazier, said the message “has been removed by staff and reported to Twitter,” suggesting that Cruz will say his account was hacked.

The “like” disappeared early on Tuesday, and Cruz later said someone on his staff who had access to the account “inadvertently hit the like button.”

“It was not a deliberate act. We’re dealing with it internally, but it was a mistake. It was not malicious,” he continued.

The clip, which appeared in his likes, was from an account called “Sexuall Posts” and contained a 2:20 segment of a video from the adult video website Reality Kings. The account that posted the video promised “Full-Length HD Porn Posted Every Day.”

It isn’t just the media taking shots on Ted for this. Although, they did get in a fair share.

People on Twitter were the ones hitting it out of the park. Here are some of the best ones:
