The machines are taking over. We all know this. But if McDonald’s is going to fire all of those people protesting for $15, they better make sure their machines aren’t spitting out $.99 cent nothing burgers!
This reminds me of when I was a kid and my sister would get a bun, cheese, bun combo aka grilled cheese and they still made my Dad pay for a cheese burger.
At least we got some food.
THIS DUDE GOT NOTHING!
A teen who goes by Ari on Twitter was out to get lunch with a friend this week when she noticed that the food-ordering kiosk at her UK McDonald’s franchise has an unusual quirk.
Like with any order, customers can choose to remove onions, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and cheese. But weirdly enough, removing the bun and the beef patty are also options. She did what any curious teen might do and placed an order for…nothing.
The tweet has been blowing up!
According to DailMail: Ari found himself charged 99 cents for picking up their order – which was, effectively, an empty bag.
He went on to tweet: “I just spent 99p for nothing from McDonald’s.
“This tweet actually cost me money to make, I’m gonna be pissed off if it doesn’t blow up”.
The tweet has since been shared over 50,000 times on social media.
“I was going to ensure the gherkin was removed and then realized I could remove every single ingredient and of course tried it,” he later explained.
And of the worker who handed him the order, Ari added: “I’m not gonna take a photo of someone I’ve never met before! But I can confirm, he was really very confused and told the staff as I left.”
